Mission Statement
Team NaviKai will create a multipurpose, autonomous underwater vehicle to qualify and compete in the RoboSub 2020 competition. The vehicle shall be able to autonomously explore and interact with an underwater environment.

Problem
More than 80% of our ocean is unmapped, unobserved, and unexplored.

Risks
Crewed underwater expeditions are costly, resource-intensive and potentially hazardous.

Advantages
RAUV's provide a window below the surface that allows users to manage what they typically cannot see and provide real-time actionable information. These systems provide faster, safer, economical, and more efficient inspections compared to using divers and tethered ROVs.
Why UAV?
Unmanned technologies enable systems to go farther, operate longer, succeed in harsh or dangerous conditions and help users make intelligent decisions
Future Benefits
Unlocking the mysteries of deep-sea ecosystems can reveal new sources for medical drugs, food, and energy resources and other products.

Our Objectives

What is RoboSub?
The fundamental goal of the RoboSub competition is for an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) to demonstrate its autonomy by completing underwater tasks, with a new theme each year.
